About me
I qualified as a Speech and Language Therapist from the University of Manchester in 1996. Since this time I have worked with a wide range of children with speech, language and communication needs in a variety of different settings.
My specialism and passion is in working with young children (from the age of 18 months until they start school) with autism spectrum conditions and their families. I use a range of therapeutic approaches including PACT (Paediatric Autism Communication Therapy), The Curiosity Programme, Intensive Interaction, Natural Language Acquisition (for gestalt language processors), AAC (Alternative and Augmentative Communication) and Hanen programmes . I believe in child-led and a neurodiversity informed approach. I am constantly seeking to better my practice and understanding in order to support the individuals I work with.
I aim to always closely involve parents, and when appropriate, other key caregivers, e.g. pre-school teachers, in the therapy process. I believe that therapy targets should be worked upon together so that we can make a positive difference for your child. I am a conscientious and caring person and strive to deliver a quality service to local families.
